US Finals Update

The schedule for US Finals has changed slightly. Dippers meeting, official warm-up, and performance times have been pushed back 15 minutes. Gemini’s schedule, excluding when to meet to support Dippers, has remained the same.

Thank You Kristy
Last night Kristy informed Gemini that she will not be coaching a team at Showtime next season. She will still work with us an be around, just not on the coaching staff for a team. I’d like to thank her for all she’s done this season, with Gemini and Showtime in general.

The times for Showtime’s Placement clinics on Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th are below. Times for the Finals Placements on May 7th will be given at the clinics.

US Finals Schedule

The US Finals Performance Order is up. A lot has changed from the general schedule information sent earlier. Dippers perform at 11:33 and have 8 other teams in the division. Gemini performs at 5:03 and has United Talent as the only other team in the division. I am asking Gemini to arrive early enough to support Dippers and asking Dippers to stay long enough to support Gemini. Please see the schedules below for when to be someplace on Saturday. The meeting place will be set once I figure it out.

Final Week of Courses
This week, April 20-23 is the final week for Spring 2 Courses. Following this week there will be no classes until the week of May 11th. The next courses will begin following the dance and tumbling clinics on May 9th.
Kentucky Tryouts
University of Kentucky Cheerleading tryouts finish today. The tryouts will be held at Memorial Coliseum, beginning at 3pm. Galaxy and Team USA will perform prior to Kentucky announcing the new squad.

The USASF has posted the Worlds Schedule. We aren’t sure who put the grid on this page, but you can get all the schedules if you try hard enough.
Supporting the Survivor Show
Showtime Spirit will be donating a gift certificate to the “Supporting the Survivor Show” hosted by BaK 4 More Studio. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 20th, at the Blue Moon Saloon. The show will begin at 7:30pm and feature a guest talking about her experience as a domestic violence survivor. There will be entertainment including the Fillies dances and a comedian in addition to the special guest. Tickets will cost $10 in advance or $20 at the door and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Center.
The gift certificate Showtime is donating to the event can be used for $50/month off a competitive team for the 2009-10 season or $75/session off cheer, dance, or tumbling courses for up to 4 sessions.

Placement Information Meeting
We have added a Placement Information Meeting on Wednesday, April 15th, at 7pm. The meeting should last about an hour.
US Finals & Worlds Schedules

The US Finals general schedule has been put up. Dippers’ session is 12:45-2:45pm and Gemini’s session is 7:15-10:15pm. The website says the performance order will be posted 1 week before the event. The spectator fee for the competition is $15 per adult and $10 for children (4-12) and senior citizens (55+).
The Worlds general schedule has been posted. Galaxy’s division (International Junior All Girl) is scheduled for 6-9:40pm on Saturday and 9-10am on Sunday. Both days are at the Josten’s Center meaning you will not need to buy a Disney park hopper just to watch the cheer competition. (You would need a park pass to watch dance).
